The guy at the lift lobby.

It was an usual afternoon, I had some groceries to pick and left my work early for this real-task at hand.

Least did I knew that I was going to meet a fellow human being who would really change my perception that people portray for men , calling them all out for losing the sense of gentlemen spirit in them and being flaky always.

This lesson was truly impactful.

After parking my vehicle I transited to lift lobby and just happened to see a decent man standing in a silent lobby. Initially for an introvert like me it added a flavour of real uncomfortable nature in me when it comes to strangers.

And out of a cosmic crack, He and I happened to share an eye-contact.

No it wasn’t a Bollywood saga, just two fellow human beings on earth acknowledging the presence of other beyond “I found my love moment”.

Due to lockdown series going on there wasn’t anyone I suppose for good 3–4 minutes. There was only one lift working and I was looking to-and-fro like a pendulum for one of the four lift to come down rushing so I can go ahead with my business.

And, here came the only lift working after good five minutes. As soon as I tried getting in I don’t know how out of no-where came a wave of a pool of people pushing around to get in.

Ethics were no where to be found at that moment. This stranger-guy got lucky by chance and found space in the lift as he was closest to the door earlier.

I was aligned to a corner in an awe of “Stand in Queue Again”.

To my surprise this guy observed it all happening probably was an observant fellow with a real-gentlemen spirit.

He pressed on the hold button for me to enter. Not that there were other people who could have also done the sweet-gesture of acknowledging other fellow-human when it comes to the mumbo-jumbo game of manners in life.

But this gesture just made me pause for a while to really accept the fact that some men do carry the real-light of chivalry just like in monochrome photography age.

Majorly society today label men as disrespectful with scruffy attitude towards women. Probably the reasons are many to say the least, but as a society we can’t make all the men sail in the same boat just cause of few “work-in-progress” cases.

Men do have a heart and it actually works like us all. A research recently performed by University of Michigan reveals, “MEN, WOMEN SHARE SIMILAR EMOTIONAL HIGHS AND LOWS”.

Then aren’t we too quick to judge them all with the same lens. For a progressive society which we are all a part of it is very much required to respect the co-existence of one another and make a real difference by respecting the differences we carry as male and female species.

And as for me I missed the lift , though the lesson was real. For the stranger out there there will always be a gratitude from heart to deliver the message without words.
